The weather in Wisconsin can sometimes create road conditions that may be unsafe. Drivers are expected to respond to such conditions to avoid an accident. Unfortunately, a recent car accident reportedly left a teenager dead and his passenger injured.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. on a day in mid-January. According to reports, a 23-year-old male was headed south on a Wisconsin roadway, driving a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer containing a car. That driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to enter northbound lanes.
As result, the truck reportedly struck a sports utility vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, an 18-year-old male, was transported to the hospital but reportedly passed away as a result of the injuries suffered in the collision. A 51-year-old female passenger in the deceased victim’s vehicle was also transported to the hospital, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police say that road conditions may have been a factor; however, the accident remains under investigation.
Unfortunately, a family is now facing their worst nightmare as they cope with the unexpected death of their loved one. In addition to their grief, many Wisconsin families who experience such a loss due to a car accident also face significant financial repercussions as a result of funeral expenses and medical bills. To cope with these expenses, some families choose to file a civil lawsuit against those believed to be responsible. While a successfully presented case will likely do little to lessen their grief, it can ensure that they have necessary financial resources to focus on their recovery.
