Wisconsin man dies in motorcycle accident

Motorcycle accidents are often dangerous and life-threatening events, because motorcycles provide very little in the way of protection for the riders who use them to get around. When a motorcyclist is involved in a collision with another larger vehicle, it is not uncommon for the motorcyclist to be hurt or to lose their life.

Just recently a Wisconsin man was killed when he was out riding his motorcycle. The accident occurred near the Albion shortly before noon. The 24-year-old victim was traveling on Highway 73 near Interstate 90 when a minivan turned into him. The minivan was driven by a 71-year-old woman. It appears that the minivan driver was attempting to get on the interstate when she made a left hand turn and collided with the motorcyclist.

Visual recognition issues are often the cause of deadly motorcycle accidents. Motorcycles, relative to other vehicles, are small and can be difficult for drivers to identify. Drivers also sometimes fail to remember that motorcycles may be present when they are on Wisconsin roads and highways, and therefore drivers forget to look for them when they are making driving maneuvers.

As the investigation into this tragic matter continues, law enforcement officials may learn if the cause of the fatal crash was a visual recognition mistake on the part of the minivan driver. When victims lose their lives in preventable accidents such as this one, surviving family members may have legal rights to seek compensation. Wrongful death lawsuits can help family members recover from the monumental loss of a loved one in a fatal crash or collision.
