Fatal Wisconsin car accident under investigation

When driving, it is easy to become complacent. Unfortunately, a single moment of inattention could ultimately lead to serious consequences. For example, police in Wisconsin are investigating a car accident that reportedly caused one woman’s death.

The incident happened just before 6 p.m. on a day in late May. According to reports, the driver of a northbound vehicle drove onto the shoulder of the road before losing control and crossing the center line. Unfortunately, the vehicle reportedly struck a southbound vehicle.

Reports indicate that a 45-year-old woman who was a passenger in the northbound vehicle died several days after the accident due to the injuries she suffered in the accident. A passenger in the southbound vehicle also suffered serious injuries in the collision. It is unclear if criminal charges are anticipated as a result of the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.

What could ultimately appear to be a relatively innocuous miscalculation while driving could ultimately have serious, even fatal consequences, making it necessary for all drivers to remain vigilant at all times. Unfortunately, a family is now left to cope with the unexpected, likely preventable, death of their loved one while another victim of the Wisconsin car accident may be facing a lengthy recovery as a result of injuries suffered in the collision. To help the victims of this incident — including the surviving family members of the deceased woman — cope with the financial consequences, it may be necessary to file a personal injury lawsuit in a Wisconsin civil court.  An attorney with experience with such cases can help them fully understand the options available to them.
