What is a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL)? A Guardian Ad Litem ensures the protection of a child’s best interests in cases involving divorce, neglect or abuse, and custody disputes. A Guardian Ad Litem also represents adults in need of guardianships and protective placement or services.
